One bite of Barbecued Shrimp from Emeril’s New Orleans and your taste buds will go, “Bam!” (There, we got it out of the way). Emeril’s flagship restaurant in the New Orleans Warehouse/Art District has been a must-experience foodie destination since 1990. As for originality, let’s just say if Emeril’s was one of those restaurants where you’re allowed to color the menus, this team would color outside the lines. Tip: Save room for the banana cream pie.

K-Paul's

What Louis Armstrong was to jazz, Paul Prudhomme was to Louisiana cooking. His legacy lives on at K-Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen, the comfortable French Quarter cafe he opened with his wife Kay in 1979. With five popular TV shows and 11 cookbooks, Chef Paul has been credited with starting the Cajun craze. Although the beloved chef with the signature snap-brim cap passed away in 2015, his staff is still working blackened magic in this world-famous kitchen on Rue Chartres.

Trinity Restaurant
