Locally owned and operated by award-winning Chef Ron Iafrate, this treasure located in Metairie, right outside of New Orleans, features fresh-cooked food made with logically grown ingredients.

Ron had a passion for cooking from an early age when he began helping his Italian mother cook family recipes. He cultivated his love of food by combining his childhood cooking with northeast culinary traditions. After receiving his degree, Chef Ron served on the board for Louisiana Technical College System, where he helped plan curriculum to train chefs.

Under the tutelage of renowned Chef Fred Faria in Rhode Island, Chef Ron learned Cajun-style cooking.

Chef Ron boasts experience in fine dining and hospitality. Throughout his career, Chef Ron has won several awards including 2010 Chef of the Year. The prestigious American Culinary Federation award was voted on by his peers.

In 2012, Chef Ron’s dream of owning his own restaurant came true when he opened Ron’s Gumbo Stop & Pub. He personally oversees every detail from ingredient purchasing to presentation. The restaurant features award-winning gumbo along with other Big Easy staples such as po’ boys, shrimp creole, Southern fried chicken, and red beans and rice. And, of course, house specialty gumbos including stuffed gumbo and mumbo gumbo are fan favorites.
