Holiday Inn Superdome's Streetcar Restaurant Is A Do

From the giant clarinet that calls to everyone who passes by to the jazz covering the walls of the walkway, the Holiday Inn Superdome has unique New Orleans flair that continues into the beautiful Streetcar Restaurant and Clarinet Bar where we recently enjoyed a delicious lunch.  The streetcar themed restaurant features gorgeous views of downtown, streetcar art, and a streetcar even stops just steps from the doorway.

With salad, sandwiches (and Po-boys), gumbo, pasta, and more, the impressive menu offers an extensive mix of classic American and traditional New Orleans dishes. Did we mention appetizers and desserts?!?

We started with a rich, creamy spinach and artichoke dip that was served with tasty tortilla chips, salsa, and sour cream.  Since it’s summer, we all opted for lighter entrees: crisp, cool salads. Although, I must admit I was tempted by several other dishes including a tasty looking cheeseburger and gumbo.  I had the steak salad with crisp blue cheese crumbles, perfectly prepared steak, and a tangy vinaigrette dressing.  My lovely dining companions both ordered the classic Chicken Caesar Salad with ripe romaine lettuce, fresh parmesan cheese, croutons, and chicken grilled to perfection tossed in a creamy Caesar dressing. 

The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for dine-in or room service. The restaurant and bar also offer a new pool side service. So take advantage of the hotel’s glorious rooftop pool while enjoying a tasty drink or two with a perfectly prepared snack (or meal).
