Hard Rock Café Opening Up For The Homeless On Thanksgiving

Hard Rock Cafe New OrleansFor most New Orleans families, the toughest thing about Thanksgiving is choosing between another helping of mouthwatering turkey or delicious honey ham to go with their sweet potato praline casserole. However, for too many of the city’s poorest residents, neither is an option. For them there’s no first helpings, let alone second. That’s where Hard Rock Café of New Orleans is stepping up to help out this year.

Hard Rock Café is taking a moment out of their usual rocking routine and closing their doors to the public on Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving. While the regulars will be enjoying dinner at Gramdma's, Hard Rock Cafe is opening their doors to the area’s homeless and giving back to the New Orleans community by providing a world class Thanksgiving meal to the area’s homeless.

Instead of their legendary burgers and smokehouse sandwiches on the menu, Thursday, November 22nd they’ll be serving up a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for those that can’t afford a hot turkey meal and have no place to go this holiday.

The doors open at 11am and will stay open until 12:30 for the homeless men, women and children in the area who want to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal. Please note seating is limited and is available only on a first come, first serve basis.

After Thanksgiving and after you do your Black Friday shopping in the Quarter, stop by the Hard Rock Café and show your support for the positive efforts they’re making by enjoying one of their amazing meals.

I know that it’s just one of the ways that New Orleans restaurants are helping out those that are less fortunate in our community this holiday season. It’s great to hear about this sort of news, so if you know of any other restaurants making similar positive efforts we would love to hear about it via the Feedback form or leave a comment on Facebook.
