New Orleans has a lot of world-famous restaurants. This is not one of them. Daisy Dukes is just great New Orleans food done right. Like their slogan says, it’s “Nuttin’ Fancy. Just Good Southern Eatin’.”TM
The thing is, though, this place is pretty amazing. Just look at the Bananas Foster French Toast we had at their West Napoleon location in Metairie! It’s French Toast made with French bread, stuffed with banana cream cheese and topped with a Bananas Foster rum sauce. It was delicious!
The chicken wing situation here is pretty awesome as well. They come in Hot, Teriyaki, BBQ, Spicy Garlic, Lemon Garlic, and Duke’s Special (made with Duke’s Special Sauce). As one reviewer on TripAdvisor said, “I don't know what they put in these wings, but whatever it was spoke to my soul…I'd pay good money to find out!”
Daisy Dukes is a great place to grab a dozen Raw or Chargrilled Oysters, an Alligator Omelet, an FGT Boy (a Green Fried Tomato Po-boy), or All-You-Can-Eat Crawfish (in peak season). And it doesn’t get any better than a Daisy Burger.
And, before we forget, we need to tell you about their award-winning Bottomless (yeah, bottomless) Cajun Bloody Mary. Amazing!
Daisy Dukes serves breakfast all day long. The Original Daisy Dukes on Charters Street is a great place to satisfy those “post-partying in the French Quarter munchies,” but locals love Daisy Dukes, too, which explains the fact that there are now six locations throughout Greater New Orleans. They all have different hours and the menu offerings vary. For specifics, check their website.
