Porter & Luke's Never Disappoints
In our humble opnion, one of the best places to find authentic New Orleans cuisine in Old Metairie is Porter & Luke’s on Metairie Road, just 10 minutes from downtown.
This restaurant has attracted attention almost since the day it opened in 2013 when it was recognized by New Orleans food critic Tom Fitzmorris as one of the city’s top 10 new restaurants. Fitzmorris also ranked the restaurant as one of the dozen best restaurants to get fried chicken in the city.
Along with New Orleans specialties like gumbo, turtle soup, po-boys and seafood platters, Porter & Luke’s serves up some fabulous salads, steaks and Italian dishes. Their Chicken Parmesan, pictured below, is the best ever.
One of the things we really love about Porter & Luke’s is their dessert list. You can get a slice of Doberge Cake here without buying a whole cake and their Chantilly Cheese Cake is the bomb!
With their masks firmly in place and their obvious attention to cleanliness, the staff made us feel perfectly safe eating here during Covid-19.
