Fabulous Food Festivals This Fall

It’s fall—and in New Orleans when the weather cools down, the fun heats up. We have two important words for you: Food. Festivals. They’re not only a huge deal in New Orleans during the fall—they are perhaps our FAVORITE thing about New Orleans in the fall. (FYI, that’s no small feat).

Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival (October 16-18)

Held in Lafayette Square Park, this is the ninth annual Crescent City Blues and BBQ Festival. Hosted by the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation, the free event features a fabulous food and variety of blues performers.

Bayou Bacchanal (November 7)

Caribbean culture while never having to leave Armstrong Park? Sure, why not! This free festival comes complete with masquerades, dancers moving to the beat of steel drums---and of course, Caribbean food and drink!

Treme Gumbo Festival (November 14-15)

This festival comes with two New Orleans essentials: jazz and gumbo. The free event will take place in Louis Armstrong Park and will feature a plethora of New Orleans style gumbos and traditional and contemporary jazz.

Oak Street Poboy Festival (November 22)

Restaurants and poboy lovers gather in Uptown for this Oak Street affair where chefs compete for the best poboy in various categories while the crowds are entertained with live music. With so many fun (and delicious) festivals this fall, New Orleans is the place to be. Need a room? Check out our favorite places to stay.
