Andrea's Restaurant celebrates 29 years

There are a lot of great restaurants in the New Orleans area, but many come and go. So when a restaurant is around for almost three decades, we tend to take notice.

In this instance, we’re talking about Andrea’s Restaurant in Metairie. This Northern Italian powerhouse of a restaurant is celebrating its 29th anniversary this month.

To celebrate 29 years of cooking for the New Orleans community, Andrea’s is offering a three-course menu for both lunch and dinner for $29 from now through March 3. That’s a little less than $10 for each course for more than a month – a killer deal, in our opinion.

As a special treat, diners who order the three-course meal will also get a complimentary glass of wine from Chef Andrea’s own personal vineyard in Ana Capri, Italy.

Over the years, the restaurant has seen some changes. Capri Blu, one of Metairie’s premiere piano and wine lounges, was an add-on. The kitchen’s wood-burning oven and Rotisserie were also added recently.  And even their food has changed a little, thanks to a chef who has personally solicited and taken input from customers since opening the restaurant’s doors in 1984.

One thing that hasn’t changed is the family atmosphere Chef Andrea has created over the years.

“I always say ‘Mama mia’ because I’m Italian, and I always tell anyone ‘My home is your home,’” he said with a laugh. “Now some of them see me coming to their table, and they say it before I do.”
