Food Festival Favorites: Treme Creole Gumbo Festival

November 6 2014 | What's New

Fabulous food, live jazz, and fun times…that’s what you can expect this weekend at Louis Armstrong Park.  That’s right—it’s time to get your grub on with the Treme Creole Gumbo Festival. The festival features a smorgasbord of delicious gumbos like seafood gumbo, dark roux chicken and sausage gumbo, Creole filé gumbo, and vegan gumbo. Be sure you bring your appetite because the festival will be serving up other New Orleans classics like our world famous po’ boys and shrimp-n-grits.

Everyone knows it’s not a celebration in New Orleans without live music! The brassy sounds of traditional and contemporary jazz will fill the fall air as festival goers. This year, the party will be on the move as the festival will also feature a famous second-line parade!

This as a family affair with creative workshops onsite designed just for kids! The event is November 8 and 9 from 11 a.m. until 7:15 p.m. in Louis Armstrong Park. Admission is free.
