Restaurant Overview
Whether there’s just the two of you or you’ve got your whole crew, Mambo’s belongs on your Bourbon Street must-do list. The food and drink are both exceptional and, to top it off, this restaurant is home to the only rooftop terrace on Bourbon. It’s a little oasis, right in the heart of the action. Mambo on in!
When you’re not looking down at the crowds below, take in the great local art and fascinating artifacts all around you. One room at Mambo’s has an elaborate swamp scene on the ceiling, with two back-lit 11-foot alligator sculptures lurking above you. It’s like a swamp tour for people who don’t like mosquitos.
Mambo’s menu will blow you away as well. It was created by people who know what you want to eat when you come to New Orleans. You’ll find fresh seafood (their Mambo’s Chargrilled Oysters and Oyster’s Rockefeller are magnificent), traditional Creole and Cajun dishes, and inventive pasta entrees you’ll be dreaming about long after you get home. Signature dishes like their Blackened Redfish Lafourche and the Louisiana Crab Cakes are bucket-list worthy. Like their menu says, you’ll be saying, “More Dat, cher!”
This place is also the perfect spot to grab a drink or dessert. If you can resist the New Orleans Bread Pudding, give their Praline Brownie a shot. It comes with ice cream and is smothered in their caramelized praline rum sauce, then topped with pecan pieces. It’s decadent and delicious!
