New Orleans Wine & Food Experience 2013

May 15 2013 | Restaurants

Planning on coming to town for the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience (NOWFE)? Then you better come hungry and make sure you’re thirsty. If you’re a local, I hope you already know that you need to save some room for this indulgent food and wine centric festival.

It all happens Wednesday, May 22 through Saturday, May 25 in New Orleans. Chefs, wineries, food lovers and wine aficionados come together for an amazing few days of food, wine and fun.

Highlights include the Royal Street Stroll, what some label as the most unique wine tasting in the world. From what I’ve seen, I can’t argue with that!

Imagine walking down a historic French Quarter street with a world class wine in your hand while you explore antique shops, art galleries and enjoy delicious food offerings while listening to the jazz notes flow through the air.

The other can’t miss event is the Grand Tastings Friday evening and Saturday morning. The Grand Tastings bring together 175 wineries and more than 75 of New Orleans’ finest chefs for your taste bud’s pleasure and wine palates enjoyment.

It all begins Wednesday, May 22 at 7 pm. That’s when more than of the city’s best restaurants are putting on unforgettable dinners, delicious food paired with wines from the top wineries across the country. The only bad part is that we can only be one place at a time and all of the dinners happen at the same time!

7 on Fulton

Together with Grayson Cellars, 7 on Fulton put together a four course meal to die for. Their highlight is the Fulton Street Veal paired with a Grayson Cellars’ Merlot California 2010.

Brennan’s

Brennan's Executive chef Lazone Randolph teams up with Grgich Hills Estate for an exciting meal that pairs their world class food with world class wines from the California winery.

Broussard’s

Joseph Phelps Vineyards ventures into the heart of the French Quarter to work with Brossard’s. The menu includes a Petite Filet of Beef Tenderloin and Horseradish crust Broccoli Mousseline and Parisienne Potato A La Provençale

GW Fins

GW Fins is planning a meal around what they do the best, a four course meal that includes highlights of Seared Sea Scallops and Colorado Lamb Trio, all complimented with wines from Large Twins.

The Pelican Club

Owner Chef Richard Hughes pairs the Pelican Club's  food with Josh Pardos of Markham Wineries for this year’s NOWFE. The menu includes a number of exciting dishes including crawfish etoufee with jalapeno, cheese, yellow stone ground pudding cornbread with hot pepper, paired with a Markham Chardonnay 2010.

Make sure to contact the restaurants directly to make your reservations for these very special meals. There are a limited number of seats, so don’t wait too long to make those reservations.
