Hard Rock Cafe Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Hard Rock CafeFor the 40th anniversary of rock and roll tribute restaurant Hard Rock, the New Orleans restaurant is honoring local community servants by offering a Burger Badge Bash. Policemen and women, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians can all get a Hard Rock Legendary Burger for only 71 cents by showing their badges.* (Be sure to check out the fine print below so you can take advantage of this deal.)

The Burger Badge Bash begins at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14th at Hard Rock Café on 418 North Peters Street in New Orleans.

The day will feature local rock band Liquid Peace Revolution, who seems like a great fit for the classic rock and roll venue. With sounds heavily influenced by rock legends Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, and several others, Liquid Peace Revolution creates their own sound in their effort to “resurrect Rock ‘N Roll.” The music starts at 8 p.m.

Wine and Food Experience Vintner Dinner at the Bombay Club

The New Orleans Wine and Food Experience comes to the Bombay Club on Wednesday, May 25th.

The Bombay ClubWith the upcoming New Orleans Wine and Food Experience set to take place May 24th – 28th, several of New Orleans’ favorite restaurants will feature a special selection of cuisine paired with fantastic wines. Chef Ricky Cheramie will serve up the Vintner Dinner at the Bombay Club on Wednesday night, May 25th at 6:30 p.m.

Congratulations to the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company Restaurant of New Orleans for winning multiple “Best of” awards from the 2010 Citysearch poll. Bubba Gump topped votes in the categories of “Best Group Dining,” “Best Family Friendly Restaurant,” “Best Business Lunch & Dinner,” and “Best American Food.”

crawfishCitysearch runs an annual competition for local businesses in a variety of categories. In the 2010 poll, website users were only allowed to vote once for each category in an attempt to get the most accurate results possible.

Making your own Sazerac from Arnaud's French 75 Bar

French 75 Bar’s Chris Hannah loves a good cocktail. Among his favorite is a classic Sazerac cocktail. On recent hot afternoon, he mixed up a few Sazerac and offered his own twist on how much stirring and zest one should add.

Recipe for The New Orleans Sazerac

  • 2 oz of rye whiskey
  • 2 dashes of Peychaud’s bitters
  • rinse of absinthe
  • 1 sugar cube
