The end of August marks the end of Coolinary, which we are a little sad about. So many great restaurants participated this year, and we’re already looking forward to see what’s on the Coolinary menus in 2014. There is one bright spot on the horizon for September though: We Live to Eat Restaurant Week.
Like Coolinary, many great restaurants will be offering mulit-course, fixed-price meals – except instead it’s for a week and not a month. Lunch will consist of two courses for under $20, and dinner will be three courses for under $35. This year’s event starts Sept. 9 and goes through Sept. 15.
Over 45 restaurants are participating, but we have some favorites, of course. These 11 restaurants are the ones we can 100 percent vouch for, and where we would recommend our friends and family to go:
- Café Giovanni (participating at dinner only)
- Court of Two Sisters (participating at dinner only)
Created back in 2010 by the Louisiana Restaurant Association’s New Orleans chapter, the “We Live to Eat” campaign has seen growing success. It reminds locals to get out, try new places and support local restaurants. It also gives visitors a break financially, and makes it easier for people to go restaurants that they may not think of initially.
If you do take advantage of a We Live to Eat meal, then we would love to see your photos on Facebook. Post them on our Facebook page so that we can give you a shout-out and share them with the rest of the city!
