Our Favorite Places to Take Dad for Steak This Father's Day

June 1 2019 | What's New

You'll find some great steakhouses in New Orleans, but we're also home to some fine restaurants that just happen serve a great steak. Here are our favorites, just in time for Father’s Day.

Brennan's Restaurant

Brennan's is known for more than breakfast. They offer a wonderful Grilled Wagyu Ribeye with Preserved Blue-foot Mushrooms, Bok Choy and Soy Bordelaise. Dad will love it. Make your reservations.

Bistreaux at Maison Dupuy

Hang out in the Quarter this Father's Day with dad at the Bistreaux at Maison Dupuy. They offer an inspired menu that features a great Hanger Steak with Tasso Glace de Vin and Truffle Fries. Ask for a table near the window for a great view of Toulouse Street. Reserve your table.

Cornet

All dad's love Bourbon Street! Grab a seat on what just might be the best balcony in the French Quarter and dine on their 8 ounce seared Filet, served with Creamed Spinah and Crawfish Mac Cheese.  Make reservations.

Commander's Palace

Dad will love Commander's Palace, named the "South's Best Restaurant" by Southern Living. Steakwise, their Filet Mignon of Black Angus Beef does not disappoint. This selection features 8 ounces of Harris Ranch beef over Yukon gold potato purée with foraged mushrooms, whiskey smoked onions & tasso Marchands de Vin. Yum! Reserve now.

Pelican Club

This lovely restaurant on Exchange Alley offers a Center Cut, Eight-Ounce Filet Mignon with truffle mashed potatoes and asparagus and your choice of Marchand de Vin or béarnaise sauce. OMG! Reserve your table in your favorite dining room now.

Ralph’s on the Park

Dad used to take you to the park. Now you take him. Ralph’s Grilled Filet Mignon comes with garlic steak fries, bacon béarnaise and an incredible view of City Park. Your table is waiting here.

Rizzuto's Ristorante & Chop House

Gentelmen, choose your weapons! Rizzuto's serves only USDA Prime Beef. Dad can go for the 8-ounce Filet, the 14-ounce Aged Ribeye or the 16-ounce Strip – or he can go all out for the 22-ounce Bone-In Ribeye. Make sure he saves room for dessert. The gelato is amazing there. Reserve a table.

Tujague’s

Why has Tujague’s been around for 160 years? Here’s why. Tujague’s Filet Mignon is an 8-ounce center cut filet mignon topped with maitre d' butter, served with Yukon gold mashed potatoes and broccoli. It’s a rare treat, no matter how you order it cooked. Click here for reservations.
