K-Paul's is a legendary New Orleans restaurant serving upscale Cajun dishes with top-quality service and atmosphere. It features open kitchens, courtyard, and private event rooms with a balcony overlooking the French Quarter.
K-Paul's was opened in 1979 by the late Chef Paul Prudhomme and his wife, K as a 62-seat Louisiana Kitchen on Chartres Street in the French Quarter. Chef Paul was an American celebrity chef whose has been credited with popularizing Creole and Cajun cuisine. His cooking represented the tastes of Louisiana as he created extraordinary cuisine and developed the now-famous method of "blackening" to add a unique brand of spice to these dishes. The seasoning is so amazing, it is now sold throughout the world.
Before accepting reservations, this iconic restaurant was noted for the line of people outside its door each night eagerly awaiting their turn to dine. K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen now offers seating for more than 200. (You generally need a reservation, but you can always have a drink at the bar while waiting for your table.)
The dining areas of K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen include spacious dining on the first and second floors, seasonal balcony dining, an intimate courtyard, and private seating. Both floors feature an open kitchen so diners can watch as each delicious dish is prepared. K's Parlor, an enclosed private room on the second floor, is the perfect place for your private parties or special events.
The menu includes shrimp that is so fresh and well-prepared, some say it tastes like lobster … as well as delicious jalapeno corn bread, chicken and andouille gumbo, blackened stuffed pork chop, blackened twin beef tenders with debris sauce, and blackened surf and turf! Many say it is hands-down the best Cajun and Creole food in New Orleans.
Chef Paul's philosophy and his commitment to excellence remain with K-Paul's current staff. If you are visiting New Orleans, do not miss out on a dining experience at K-Paul's!
