WHAT:
The Spanish Custom House on historic Bayou St. John to be sold at Absolute Auction
regardless of price. The house is the 3rd oldest structure in New Orleans and the
oldest structure still standing in the historic Bayou St. John neighborhood.

WHEN:
Tuesday, February 10, 2009 Auction: 12:00 noon
Registration: 9:00 a.m.

WHERE:
1300 Moss Street, Bayou St. John Neighborhood
The Corner of Moss and Grand Route St. John
HISTORY:
The house, securely located along the historic Esplanade Ridge, is one of the few
surviving residences from the Spanish Colonial Period in the South. In 1957, it
was designated an Orleans Parish Landmark and in 1984, a New Orleans Historic District
Landmark.

Throughout the home, original detailing remains intact and preserved. The property
is situated on extensive grounds along the banks of the bayou and includes the two-storied
edifice, a large two room slave quarter, and the original carriage house. Due to
its superior location along the Esplanade Ridge, the home has never flooded.

AUCTION:
To register to bid, a cashier's check in the amount of $50,000 made payable to the
bidder, or a personal or company check accompanied by a Bank Letter of Guaranty
will be required. Broker participation is invited and welcomed.
Property tours are available onsite through auction day from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00
p.m.
