Location: Southern Food and Beverage Museum Julia Street Entrance of the RiverWalk The New Orleans Roadfood Festival kicks off with a Friday night party where festival chefs and foodies from around the country have a chance to talk about food, enjoy oysters on the half shell, hot cracklin's and hors d'oeuvres, and partake of an open bar featuring local cocktails. The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the 2nd annual Blue Plate Award to Wayne Mueller of Louie Mueller's Taylor, Texas, barbecue. The party's setting is the one-of-a-kind Southern Food and Beverage Museum. Admission to the museum is included in the price of a ticket, which is $50, including food and drinks. The party takes place from 5:30 to 7pm, giving attendees time to have dinner in a New Orleans restaurant of their choice afterwards.
