Chad's Bistro was named after Chad Anthony Barcia, the beloved son of Angelo and Nancy Barcia.

Chad's Bistro occupies the charming former dining rooms of Crozier's, on the lake side of West Esplanade just off Causeway Boulevard. Unlike the other restaurants in this space since Crozier's, Chad's is an entirely new, non-French concept. The menu is mostly casual New Orleans Creole food, with an emphasis on fresh seafood, with a little touch of Italian for good measure.

Chad's caught the eye of many a Metairie diner for reviving late night dining on weekends. The bar, which has a limited grill menu, stays open almost all night, and is usually full. That service still remains a rarity elsewhere around town, and it's good to have it here.

With everything from roast chicken to pizzas to lamb shanks, from oyster-artichoke soup to steaks to crab cakes, this menu can appease any appetite. Chad was born on June 22, 1987 in New Orleans and resided in Metairie for the past twelve years. He was a star member of his high school football, track and field, and rugby teams. He also belonged to campus ministry and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Chad was outgoing and loved life. He was always smiling and ready to lend a hand; full of life with a heart of gold.

On the afternoon of March 29, 2005, tragedy struck the 17 year old while playing a Rugby match. As he returned from a play he fell to ground and passed away from sudden cardiac arrest.
