Gateway to the French Quarter
Acme Oyster House is located at the heart of the action, between Bourbon and Royal Streets and only one block from Canal Street.
History
Since 1910, Acme Oyster House has been pleasing the palates of discriminating diners. Originally located at 117 Royal Street in the New Orleans Vieux Carre, the Acme Cafe, as it was then called, was nestled next to the old Cosmopolitan Hotel, described by the New Orleans Item as "for 50 years the scene of the making and breaking of Louisiana politicians..."
In 1924, a disastrous fire caused the collapse of the three-story Acme Saloon building. Guests in the adjoining hotel had to be evacuated. The cafe was reestablished as Acme Oyster House at its present location.

Today, Acme has restored the second floor of the property back to its original elegance for private parties and special occasions ... so guests can once again enjoy the splendor of a by-gone era.
